Trini Link to Pan-African Movement
Newly elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Keith Rowley, recently paid a visit to the Memorial Library of George Padmore in Accra, Ghana.
George Padmore was a Trinidadian who, along with fellow pan-Africanist Ghanaian independence leader Kwame Nkrumah, organized the Fifth Pan-African Congress which was held in Manchester, United Kingdom, 15–21 October 1945. Most of those in attendance at this event were instrumental in linking the Motherland to the Diaspora and then went on to become illustrious leaders in their own countries throughout the world.
